The Kayakable Guarantee provides you, the Lister, with protection in the event of theft, damage or loss to your kayak or canoe, caused by the Renter. Claims in respect of your kayak or canoe are covered in the first instance by the Renter, as detailed in the Kayakable Rental Agreement, but if the Renter does not reimburse you for your loss or damage, having followed the process set out in the Rental Agreement we will cover the repair or replacement cost up to a maximum value of AUD $2,500 (Guarantee Amount).
Cover is currently only for kayaks and canoes hired in the following countries: Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland and South Africa.
Please note that Kayakable is not responsible for any ‘Loss of Use or Enjoyment’, special, indirect or consequential loss, damage or harm to any person or property and/or loss of rental revenue and this Guarantee:
- is not insurance and does not replace your own homeowner’s or renter’s insurance
- does not cover Renters; they are still wholly responsible for any loss, damage or theft that happened while they were renting the kayak or canoe.
- does not cover any wear and tear, cosmetic damage or depreciation of the kayak or canoe due to reasonable use.
Need to file a claim for theft, damage or loss?
Please review the terms of the Rental Agreement carefully and ensure you have followed all steps set out therein. You must file any Guarantee claims by filling out our Claims form within 48 hours of an incident involving theft, damage or loss of the kayak or canoe.
